The Matadors Boys Volleyball team made it to the first round of CIF. Their league season was 8 wins to 9 losses, with a total of 17 games. During league the boys were ranked second overall, and after their CIF loss they now rank third.
Senior Carlos Benavides states, “We sadly lost but I enjoyed the game.” Illustrating the team’s emotions after losing CIF this year. He also shared how he feels about the growth of the volleyball program, “This season went good. Really feel like we have stepped up our program compared to my freshman year,” Carlos Benavides.
JV player Alfonso Garcia, shared his experience being brought up as a part of the CIF team. “It was really cool to be moved up, like to be honest I didn’t really think I was going to be moved up, even with that I’m very grateful for it. It was a really good experience being able to practice with varsity,” he explained.
In addition, Senior Jordan Castro shared, “My thoughts on my final season playing volleyball, I enjoyed it a lot, making more friends and memories along the way, if I was able to rewind time I wouldn’t do anything differently,” Explaining his thoughts on his final season playing high school volleyball.
Overall, the Boys Volleyball team had a productive season and hope to make it farther in CIF next year.
