The September 23 American Red Cross Blood Drive organized by the La Mirada High School Associated Student Body (ASB) collected 85 units for donation, which is the equivalent to 255 lives saved. 18 of the blood donors, including two security guards, donated “Power Red.” According to the American Red Cross, Power Red is donating double the amount of red blood cells, which can help more lives, including trauma victims. There will be two more blood drives this year if students and staff want an opportunity to easily donate blood.
