Making good progress into 2025 something else to consider as we look to the future is sustainable
vehicles. Regardless of the opinions of people it seems like the world intends to make a place for
sustainable vehicles.
Almost all major car companies currently have or is making electric vehicles. Companies try to
experiment with hybrid vehicles and dive into the EV market. But one thing people already know is that
cars are expensive, and EV’s with their complicated technology make them even more expensive,
according to The Zebra the average EV price $66,997 whereas gas cars cost only $33,797. Considering
EV’s are still fairly new it’s a car that often has problems that can get expensive.
Fortunately the expenses that come with EV’s aren’t new. It’s well know that states give various rebates
and exemptions for electric vehicles. Additionally lowering the credit minimum at which people can
finance the vehicle can help increase the people getting these vehicles, and with more in circulation,
increasing used EV sales to help those that can’t finance or purchase the vehicles. Once the reliability of
these vehicles goes up their long term benefits over gas cars will become more obvious.
EV’s for your own arent the only ways of sustainable transportation. Everyone knows about bikes and
skateboards to get arround, but theres been a recent uptick in carbon neutral buses and even fully
electric buses, greatly improving the emissions around major cities even with more than the gas buses
did with transportation of multiple people. According to govtech.com California has more than 650
active buses driving around the state with 11 million miles drive between them. Back in 2019 there was
only 450 in the state but as only 2 years later there were recorded to be around 3500. On a single charge
the buses can travel several hundred miles all of which would have previously been driven on gas.
Clearly the world is heading towards EV’s, and while its new which means citizens should be cautious of
unreliable tech, its important to realize the benefits that come with this electric alternatives. Once the
technology becomes more affordable people will be able to enjoy cheaper “fuel” and “refueling” at
home with electric vehicles as gas becomes more and more expensive.
