In the CIF State SoCal Regional tournament, La Mirada demonstrated skill and teamwork and secured a 1-0 victory over Eagle Rock High School, followed by another 1-0 win against Heritage High School. The Championship match saw the Matadores triumph over Sage Hill High School with Brianna Biggs scoring giving the team the confidence they needed to finish the game winning 1-0, avenging their earlier loss and claiming regional title. “I think after Bri(anna) scored, I was next to her and gave her the biggest hug and everyone was so excited and the energy was high,” commented Zoey Santiago. This is the Girls Varsity Soccer Team’s second CIF State SoCal Regional Championship in school history.
