La Mirada High School proudly recognizes Kaitlyn Suzuki as January’s Athlete of the Month for girls basketball.

A freshman point guard wearing #4, Kaitlyn has already made a strong impact on the court. With nine years of experience, she brings confidence, court awareness, and leadership beyond her years. One of her most memorable moments this season has been gaining confidence and truly feeling like she understands the game.

Head Coach Shay describes Kaitlyn as “the light of our team,” praising her coachability, leadership, daily improvement, and her ability to balance long school days, practices, and games while maintaining one of the top GPAs in the program.

Kaitlyn loves the opportunity to compete alongside her teammates and lists basketball as her favorite sport to watch. She looks up to Stephen Curry because of his underdog mentality and work ethic. In addition to basketball, she also competes in volleyball.
