Fall Sports Rally

As the fall sports season comes to a close La Mirada hosted their first ever all school fall sports rally in the new gym October 20, 2023. All of the classes had a chance to show their spirit and fill the bleachers with support and enthusiasm to celebrate fall sports wins and athleticism. The event kicked off with a short hype video filmed and edited by student Samantha Torres to show off the teams. ASB then welcomed every team with a run through poster for teammates to do a funny pose or short dance routine. Energy was so uplifting as all of LM got to see their peers play in a tournament of games. Pop the balloon, human hungry hippo, and human table surfing were just a few of the games played. Cheer, Dance, Football, Cross Country, Girls Golf, Girls Flag Football, Boys Water polo, and Girls Volleyball all went up against each other to win! In addition to exciting games, support was shown all throughout the LM staff, administration, and Matty the Matador as he hyped up the stands. Mr. Webster gave a speech furthering students’ excitement for the winter and spring sports to come and encouraging a “World Class” mentality among students. Sports weren’t the only groups honored, but Mrs. Kroupa honored the High Fivers who were brought for achieving a 5 on AP exams. The Science Olympiad club was also in attendance and President Trinity Thurmond gave a few words for their accomplishment. Overall the first ever all school rally was a hit for ASB and it gave way to new activities to look forward to. As the rally concluded students were left with a sense of community, support, and sense of school pride and it was a testament to the excitement yet to come.
